Jean Monnet The Chair for European Environmental Law and Climate Change Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia organized a round table on the topic “Electric cars and sustainable fashion in the formula of environmental sustainability”.
The round table was attended by: our Milica Pešterić, renowned professors Tatjana Jevremović Petrović and Tatjana Jovanić and the head of the group for energy and environmental law at NIS a.d. Novi Sad Miloš Kuzman.
We owe a great deal of gratitude to professor Mirjana Drenovak-Ivanović, primarily for reviewing such important topics, but also for the opportunity given to lawyers to give their contribution and specific practical review and share their experience with students and the professional public within the Department’s topics.
In the segment on the regulatory framework of sustainable fashion, Milica spoke about domestic and international legislation and the novelties brought by the Hamburg Declaration in the field of sustainable fashion in the context of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. They also discussed the legal framework that regulates the disposal of textile waste, the practice of “greenwashing” in our country, and respect for the labor rights of employees in the textile industry.
Use everything from your closets, unsewn materials and unmade clothing items, to reduce the impact of fashion on the environment – Milica demonstrated with a personal example at this round table because the set she wore was sewn from natural material that was 30 years old.
