The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Public Procurement Law (“Official Gazette of the RS,” No. 91/2019 and 92/2023) (hereinafter: the Law) on October 26, 2023. This Law shall apply from January 1, 2024.
The adoption of these amendments is expected to enhance the efficiency and transparency of public procurement procedures, simultaneously contributing to increased competition in the market within these processes. Further, it is anticipated that the Law will significantly stimulate the growth of environmentally friendly public procurements, crucial not only for environmental protection but also for achieving the goals outlined in other public policy documents. Additionally, these specific amendments will provide a higher level of legal protection for all participants in public procurement procedures, while affording contracting authorities better control during the implementation of these procedures.

This Law shall be applicable from January 1, 2024, except for the provisions amending the registration process for business entities on the Public Procurement Portal, which shall apply from the date of the entry into force of this Law.
